LabLENI, the research laboratory of the Human-Tech Institute at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, has once again stood out on the international stage. Two of our leading researchers, Eleonora Minissi and Luna Maddalon, represented LabLENI at the prestigious 27th Annual CYPSY27 Conference, held in Tempe, Arizona, USA. This international conference has brought together global experts to discuss the integration of neuroscience and digital technologies.
During the event, Eleonora and Luna presented four pioneering projects, reflecting LabLENI’s innovative and multidisciplinary approach:
1- Development of a Virtual Reality Driving Simulator for Cognitive Research: a Motion Sickness Analysis. This project aims to present how virtual driving simulators can be used for cognitive studies, while analyzing factors like motion sickness caused by these simulators. An innovative virtual reality driving simulatore developed in labLENI has been presented.
2- Human Body Odors Modulation on Affective Processing of Social-Emotional Virtual Environments. This study examines how human body odors influence emotional perception within virtual environments representing social emotional interactions.
3- Virtual Reality Training for Spatial Perspective-Taking in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This project explores how virtual reality can serve as a tool to help develop social and cognitive skills in children with ASD.
4- Inclusive Cognitive Commercial Training for Children: A Preliminary Evaluation of the Kokoro Kids App in Enhancing Visuospatial Abilities in Autistic and Neurotypical Children. This project preliminary validates some video games of the commercial app Kokoro Kids for visuospatial training in a cohort of normotypical and autistic children.
These groundbreaking studies highlight LabLENI’s commitment to scientific innovation and demonstrate how the combination of neuroscience and new technologies can create a positive impact on society.
We congratulate our researchers for taking LabLENI’s work beyond borders and continuing to position our laboratory as a leader in the fields of cyberpsychology and virtual reality.
Congratulations to Eleonora and Luna for their exceptional contribution and for pushing the boundaries of research!
